                  In 1865, the north won the American civil war; the Southern people suffered much from the effects of the war, because many people lost their homes, families and money. In addition, African Americans won the struggle for freedom from slavery and Civil Right act made all blacks citizens of the United States. All those factors made the South people hate African Americans; and the Ku Klux Klan was raised from the hate and enmity.

 The Ku Klux Klan was a racist and terrorist organization which was led by native born Americans. It was a racist and terrorist organization. It’s a terrorist organization founded in 1866 in a little town of Pulaski, Tennessee by six white southerners. The people of the Ku Klux Klan were a group of white people who believed in ‘’ White Pride’’ they believed that their culture is superior to all other races. The people of the organization fought to deny the Civil Right of African Americans, the wanted the blacks to be forced in slavery. The first leader of the Ku Klux Klan was ‘’ Grand Wizard’’, he was a former general in the confederate Army.

The organization spread very quickly to the point that more people wanted to be a part of the Ku Klux Klan, because the organization grown more and  became powerful than the law. The Klansmen scared people and their actions took violent actions. As a reaction to the event of the Reconstruction period they began whipping and killing and lynching blacks during night.  

 The Klansmen took the holiest Christian symbol of the cross for the purpose of religion. When members of the Ku Klux Klan controlled high political office they added Jews, immigrants and blacks and their white sympathizes in the Klan’s list of enemies.

The Klansmen’s members wore elaborate costumes with distinctive white hoods to mask their identities. They beating, lynching and burning black people, also they murdered black political leaders and destroyed religious institutions, Klansmen wanted black population to be forced to the slavery. In addition discriminated black populations not only the goal The Ku Klux Klan had, but also to destroyed the Republican party and took revenge for abolish slavery.

   The Ku Klux Klan was a brutal racist organization in American history; it used violence and acts in order to discriminate black populations in the United States, and to assert white supremacy.
